Door Plant Manager – Door Shop (Building Materials)
Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and skilled Door Plant Manager to oversee our door manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a strong combination of technical expertise, operational management, and team leadership skills. The ideal candidate will guide our production team to deliver high-quality interior and exterior doors, frames, millwork, and hardware while maintaining efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, train, and mentor door shop personnel to foster a safe, collaborative, and productive work environment.
- Build a high-performing team with clear goals and opportunities for growth.
- Operational Oversight:
- Plan and manage daily production activities to meet schedules, quality standards, and budget targets.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation and equipment usage.
- Quality Assurance & Safety:
- Implement quality control processes to ensure products exceed customer expectations.
- Enforce workplace safety protocols and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Customer Collaboration & Inventory Management:
- Coordinate with sales and design teams to deliver products aligned with customer specifications.
- Monitor material and inventory levels, working with procurement to avoid delays.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize production processes.
- Oversee maintenance of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
- Performance Tracking:
- Monitor production metrics, analyze data, and prepare performance reports to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborative Support:
- Be adaptable and open to assisting with additional tasks as assigned to support the evolving needs of the door shop department and contribute to company objectives.
Expectations & Appearance:
To represent Zarsky Lumber Co. professionally, all Managers are expected to adhere to our appearance and uniform standards. This includes wearing a Zarsky-branded collared shirt, tan or grey shorts or khakis, and a Zarsky-branded hat, with boots required for safety. Maintaining a clean, neat appearance and presenting a polished image to clients is essential.
