Zapper — Part-Time Hourly Role

Job Description

Join Zap as a Zapper and help people get where they need to go, while delivering packages, food, shopping, and other everyday essentials across Southern California. This is a part-time hourly role paying **$18.00 per hour, plus $0.67 per mile in vehicle reimbursement**.

About Zap

Zap is building a more personal, dependable way to move people and everyday essentials. Our Zappers use the Zap app to complete scheduled work commutes and on-demand Zaps while providing clear, friendly service to local riders and customers.

The role

As a Zapper, you will complete assignments in your local area using the Zap app. Your work may include scheduled commute trips, on-demand rides, package delivery, food delivery, shopping, and other customer requests.

You will:

- Safely pick up and transport riders, packages, food, and purchased items.

- Follow in-app routes, job instructions, and turn-by-turn navigation.

- Keep job status and arrival information accurate in the Zap app.

- Confirm the correct rider and trip using the app’s pickup and drop-off PIN process.

- Communicate professionally with riders and customers throughout an assignment.

- Handle shopping and delivery details carefully, including store instructions, item lists, notes, and receipt or proof-of-delivery photos when required.

- Use the app to accept eligible work, go Live when available, and manage active assignments.

- Maintain accurate profile, vehicle, license, and work-authorization information.

- Provide dependable, respectful service that makes customers want to use Zap again.

Pay and work advantages

- **$18.00 per hour** as an hourly Zap employee.

- **$0.67 per mile in vehicle reimbursement** for eligible work miles.

- Part-time scheduling designed for people who want flexible work around their existing commitments.

- A mix of scheduled commute assignments and on-demand Zap opportunities.

- One app for assignments, routing, status updates, rider communication, and job completion.

- Support from Zappy, Zap’s in-app operations assistant, to help organize assignments and improve routes.

- The opportunity to build strong relationships with repeat local riders and customers.

Hours and assignment availability may vary based on local demand, approved availability, and operational needs. Zap does not promise a minimum number of hours.

What we’re looking for

- A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

- An eligible, reliable vehicle with current license-plate information.

- A mobile phone capable of running the Zap app and sharing location during active assignments.

- Safe, attentive, and courteous driving habits.

- Dependable follow-through and the ability to manage time across multiple assignments.

- Clear, respectful communication with riders, customers, and the Zap team.

- Comfort using navigation and mobile apps.

- Legal authorization to work in the United States.

- Availability that matches the scheduled or on-demand work you accept.

Onboarding and verification

Before going Live, approved Zappers complete onboarding in the Zapper app. This includes adding a profile photo, mobile number, vehicle details, license plate, and work-authorization documentation. Zap verifies the required information before the Zapper begins accepting work.

Work area

Zap currently serves Southern California. Assignment availability depends on the active service area and local demand.
