Job Description
Join Zap as a Zapper and help people get where they need to go, while delivering packages, food, shopping, and other everyday essentials across Southern California. This is a part-time hourly role paying **$18.00 per hour, plus $0.67 per mile in vehicle reimbursement**.
About Zap
Zap is building a more personal, dependable way to move people and everyday essentials. Our Zappers use the Zap app to complete scheduled work commutes and on-demand Zaps while providing clear, friendly service to local riders and customers.
The role
As a Zapper, you will complete assignments in your local area using the Zap app. Your work may include scheduled commute trips, on-demand rides, package delivery, food delivery, shopping, and other customer requests.
You will:
- Safely pick up and transport riders, packages, food, and purchased items.
- Follow in-app routes, job instructions, and turn-by-turn navigation.
- Keep job status and arrival information accurate in the Zap app.
- Confirm the correct rider and trip using the app’s pickup and drop-off PIN process.
- Communicate professionally with riders and customers throughout an assignment.
- Handle shopping and delivery details carefully, including store instructions, item lists, notes, and receipt or proof-of-delivery photos when required.
- Use the app to accept eligible work, go Live when available, and manage active assignments.
- Maintain accurate profile, vehicle, license, and work-authorization information.
- Provide dependable, respectful service that makes customers want to use Zap again.

What we’re looking for
- A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- An eligible, reliable vehicle with current license-plate information.
- A mobile phone capable of running the Zap app and sharing location during active assignments.
- Safe, attentive, and courteous driving habits.
- Dependable follow-through and the ability to manage time across multiple assignments.
- Clear, respectful communication with riders, customers, and the Zap team.
- Comfort using navigation and mobile apps.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Availability that matches the scheduled or on-demand work you accept.
Onboarding and verification
Before going Live, approved Zappers complete onboarding in the Zapper app. This includes adding a profile photo, mobile number, vehicle details, license plate, and work-authorization documentation. Zap verifies the required information before the Zapper begins accepting work.

Zap currently serves Southern California. Assignment availability depends on the active service area and local demand.
