Overview
Zane Construction is looking for an experienced Civil Sitework Estimator to join our team. We specialize in site preparation for various commercial projects—think tree clearing, access road installation, grading, trenching, stormwater systems, erosion control, access roads, concrete and asphalt and utility trenching.
We need someone who knows what it takes to move dirt, balance a site, and build a reliable civil package from the ground up. We're hiring a real Estimator—not a software, not an AI tool, and not a sales rep for a platform, NO RECRUITERS. If you’ve been in the field or have years of real estimating experience, you’ll fit right in here.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for site development, grading, excavation, and utility scopes
- Analyze construction drawings, specs, and geotechnical reports to build accurate takeoffs
- Use Bluebeam, and Excel to support your estimating process
- Conduct or support site visits to identify potential risks and scope impacts
- Solicit subcontractor and supplier pricing; evaluate bids and proposals
- Collaborate with PMs and field teams to ensure constructability and cost efficiency
- Develop bid proposals with clear breakdowns and documentation
- Track historical cost data and update databases for future use
- Support value engineering efforts and scope reviews with clients and stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- 3 years of experience in civil sitework estimating (solar or renewable projects a bonus)
- Knowledge of earthwork, grading, erosion control, storm drainage, and underground utilities
- Proficiency with Bluebeam, and Excel
- Strong understanding of plans, specs, and civil engineering documents
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids at once
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
