Description:
The Facilities and Warehouse Maintenance Associate is responsible for the daily upkeep, cleanliness, safety, and functionality of Zaman International’s warehouse and facilities. This role ensures that all physical spaces support efficient operations, a safe work environment, and a respectful experience for staff, volunteers, and visitors. Backup driving responsibilities are assigned as needed to support logistics, transportation, and organizational operations.
Core Responsibilities
Facilities and Warehouse Maintenance
Report each morning, in Zaman uniform, to the Warehouse Manager for a review of daily priorities and assignments
Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of warehouse and facilities, including floors, restrooms, work areas, storage spaces, and exterior entry points
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, light fixture replacement, equipment checks, and minor facility troubleshooting
Monitor building conditions and proactively identify maintenance, safety, or repair needs
Ensure warehouse layout supports safe movement, proper storage, and efficient workflow
Assist with stocking, organizing, and staging donated goods and supplies
Load and unload vehicles as needed to support warehouse operations
Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, hazard-free environment
Support compliance with organizational standards for facility presentation and safety
Operational Support
Assist the Warehouse Manager with operational tasks as assigned
Remain accessible throughout the work shift via telephone
Support special events, large deliveries, and program needs as required
Represent Zaman International professionally when interacting with staff, volunteers, donors, or visitors
Backup Driving Responsibilities
Provide backup driving support for pickups, deliveries, or transportation needs as assigned
Follow established logistics procedures and submit required documentation and mileage logs
Report scheduling changes, delays, or vehicle maintenance concerns promptly
Job Specifications
High school diploma or GED required
Valid, active Michigan Operator’s License required
Ability to obtain a Michigan Chauffeur’s License within 30 days of hire preferred
Commercial Driver’s License is a plus, Clean driving record required
Minimum of one year experience in facilities maintenance, warehouse operations, or a related role preferred
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds unassisted
Basic maintenance and troubleshooting skills strongly preferred
Experience working in a community-based or interfaith environment a plus
Strong attention to safety, organization, and reliability
