Restructuring & Insolvency Associate | Chicago | 3–6 Years' PQE
A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Restructuring & Insolvency Associate to join its growing Chicago office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with 3–6 years of experience advising financial institutions, secured lenders, creditors, special servicers, and other stakeholders in complex restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy matters. The successful candidate will join a highly regarded team handling sophisticated domestic and cross-border matters across a broad range of industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent secured and unsecured creditors, financial institutions, lenders, and other stakeholders in Chapter 11 and other insolvency proceedings.
- Advise clients on creditors' rights, bankruptcy litigation, loan enforcement, workouts, restructurings, and distressed situations.
- Handle contested bankruptcy matters, including claim disputes, stay relief motions, adequate protection issues, and plan negotiations.
- Assist with commercial foreclosures, receiverships, distressed asset sales, and related litigation.
- Work closely with partners on complex restructuring transactions and insolvency-related disputes.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices on national and international matters.
Candidate Requirements:
- 3–6 years of relevant restructuring, bankruptcy, insolvency, or creditors' rights experience gained at a reputable law firm.
- Experience representing lenders, financial institutions, creditors, special servicers, or other stakeholders in distressed situations.
- Exposure to Chapter 11 proceedings, bankruptcy litigation, commercial foreclosure, loan workouts, receiverships, or related matters.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills.
- Excellent academic credentials.
- Illinois Bar admission or eligibility to waive into Illinois.
