What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer position at Zagaran, Inc.?
Zagaran is looking for a Technical Writer to join our growing team of software engineers and to plan, strategize, and write proposals to government agencies and other potential client organizations. You will be responsible for structuring, developing, and updating proposal content to tailor it to the client organization. You will work closely with Zagaran engineers and leadership on proposal strategy and technical content. To succeed in this role, you will need to be organized, understand Zagaran's engineering philosophy and capabilities, and be able to write persuasive content according to Zagaran's proposal-writing standards. Prior experience is not strictly required, but can be very helpful.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Writing compliant, persuasive, and articulate proposal content
- Researching regulatory or industry context
- Collaborating with designers to develop and implement engaging graphics
- Reviewing and editing proposals for accuracy and consistency
- Managing and meeting proposal deadlines
- Maintaining and organizing of our bid content and reusable content library for future proposals
- Filtering for proposals to respond to
- Organizing and managing bid writing documentation and processes

Salary: $65,000 to $90,000 per year depending on skills and prior experience

Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship (now or in the future)
- Fluent in English
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to turn highly technical and specialized concepts into clear, compelling, and well-written copy
- Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines
- In-person in Boston or willingness to relocate to Boston
Preferred skills:
- Experience in Proposal Writing
- Knowledge of best proposal-writing practices and the ability to implement them
- Ability to strategically craft content customized to the requirements of a proposal
