The Paver Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the concrete paver, ensuring quality and accuracy throughout the paving process. Position Summary
Zachry Construction is seeking an experienced Paver Operator to join our team on a heavy civil construction project. The Paver Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the concrete paver, ensuring quality and accuracy throughout the paving process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paving operations, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards.
What You’ll Do
- Operate the concrete paver safely and efficiently throughout the project.
- Monitor paving operations to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project specifications.
- Recognize and respond to hazardous conditions to maintain a safe work environment.
- Follow all company and general safety rules, policies, and guidelines.
- Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or mechanical issues.
- Communicate effectively with the paving crew, foreman, and project supervisors.
- Maintain awareness of site activity and adjust operations as needed for safety and efficiency.
- Perform duties that may involve extended periods of sitting, walking, or standing.
- Perform additional labor-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating a paver on heavy highway or concrete paving projects.
- Strong general operator skills with knowledge of paver functions and maintenance.
- Experience with other heavy equipment preferred, including backhoes, loaders, or dozers.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Physical ability to perform assigned tasks, including walking on uneven terrain and climbing ladders to access equipment.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform tasks requiring endurance and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work day, night, and weekend shifts as required by project demands.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and committed to safety and quality workmanship.
