The Monarch San Antonio - A Legacy of Service and Sophistication

The Monarch San Antonio, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room, 17-story boutique hotel located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio. It is set to open in early 2026 and is inspired by the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the region each winter. The hotel will feature a full-service spa, a terrace pool, and five food and beverage concepts, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems are operating at peak performance. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing a luxurious guest experience by maintaining the hotel’s high standards of safety, comfort, and aesthetics.

Essential Functions

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, elevators, and lighting.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house departments.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and prolong equipment life.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and records of repairs performed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, fire, and health regulations.
• Collaborate with engineering team members to complete projects, renovations, and upgrades.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Provide excellent service when interacting with guests and hotel staff, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Assist in emergency situations such as power outages, equipment failures, or guest-related issues.

Other Duties

• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
• Maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance preferred.
• Minimum of two years of maintenance experience, preferably in luxury hotels or high-end properties.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, maintenance equipment, and diagnostic devices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Knowledge of luxury hotel standards and guest service expectations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
