Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems are operating at peak performance. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to providing a luxurious guest experience by maintaining the hotel’s high standards of safety, comfort, and aesthetics.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, elevators, and lighting.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house departments.
- Conduct preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and prolong equipment life.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and records of repairs performed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, fire, and health regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering team members to complete projects, renovations, and upgrades.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Provide excellent service when interacting with guests and hotel staff, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Assist in emergency situations such as power outages, equipment failures, or guest-related issues.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
- Maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance preferred.
- Minimum of two years of maintenance experience, preferably in luxury hotels or high-end properties.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, maintenance equipment, and diagnostic devices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of luxury hotel standards and guest service expectations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
