VRF Technician

Zachary Piper Solutions is hiring an VRF Technician to support our client as the focus on various HVAC services. This is a contracting role on-site at Charleston, SC. The VRF Technician will work on repairing, maintaining, and installing various VRF systems from manufacturers. This is a great role in the growing South Carolina market.

Responsibilities for the VRF Technician:

• Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on VRF systems from manufacturers such as LG, Mitsubishi, Daikin, Samsung, and Trane.
• Troubleshoot communication networks, inverter boards, sensors, EEVs, and control wiring using OEM service tools and schematics.
• Conduct commissioning and startup of new VRF systems, ensuring refrigerant charge accuracy, network integrity, and control setup.
• Utilize manufacturer diagnostic software for data logging, parameter monitoring, and system tuning.
• Identify and repair refrigerant leaks, perform nitrogen pressure testing, and vacuum and recharge systems in compliance with EPA and manufacturer guidelines.
• Evaluate system performance, document operating parameters, and provide data-driven recommendations for optimization and energy efficiency.
  
  

Required Qualifications for the VRF Technician:

• Confidence with VRF systems from manufacturers such as LG, Mitsubishi, Daikin, Samsung, and Trane.
• Provide on-site technical training and guidance to less experienced technicians and customers on VRF operation and maintenance.
  
  

Compensation for the VRF Technician:

• Salary range: $95,000 - $110,000 *depending on experience*
