Director, IT & Infrastructure- Secret Clearance- Lanham MD/ Arlington VA

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Director of IT & Infrastructure to join a Government Consulting company located in Lanham, MD (with planned relocation to Arlington, VA) through hybrid work (3–4 days onsite). The Director of IT & Infrastructure will lead the organization’s secure IT, cybersecurity, and facility infrastructure, supporting classified defense and space programs while driving strategic initiatives and large-scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, facility security systems, office technology, and classified environments (SCIFs) supporting defense operations
• Direct the implementation, maintenance, and audit readiness of CMMC Level 2–compliant environments aligned with NIST 800-171 and CNSSP-12
• Manage and develop technical leadership, including direct oversight of an IT Manager and partnership with the Facility Security Officer (FSO)
• Own and execute strategic initiatives such as standing up Deltek Costpoint, evaluating and implementing AI/LLM solutions, and deploying modern enterprise tools
• Plan, scope, and execute large infrastructure and security projects with minimal guidance, including domestic and international gateway or facility stand-ups
• Develop budgets, infrastructure roadmaps, requirements, CONOPS, and execution plans to support mission-critical programs
  
  

Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, or technology leadership within defense, aerospace, space, or government environments
• Strong knowledge of secure IT infrastructure, CMMC Level 2, NIST 800-171, CNSSP-12, SCIF operations, and classified network environments
• Experience managing ERP implementations (e.g., Deltek Costpoint), enterprise IT tools, and emerging technologies such as AI/LLMs in regulated environments
• Proven program or project management background with the ability to lead initiatives from concept through execution
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred)
  
  

Compensation:

• Salary Range: $150,000 – $175,000/ year 5,000-10,000 stock units (depending on experience)

• Clearance Level: Must be eligible to work in the United States and maintain an Active U.S. government Secret clearance (TS/SCI preferred or eligible) at minimum
• Location: Hybrid; 3–4 days onsite in Lanham, MD (future onsite expectation in Arlington, VA)
• Relocation Assistance Available: $10,000 relocation bonus plus $5,000 temporary housing stipend (covers 2 months)
