Job Description
Piper Companies is looking for a Project Engineer to join a provider of sanitary processing and material handling equipment for industries such as food, pharmaceutical, and more . This role is a direct hire opportunity and will be on-site in Nashville, TN .
Responsibilities for the Project Engineer:
• Partner with sales personnel and/or with the customer directly to handle the design and pricing of a system (When meeting with customers, assure you're identifying their exact needs, offering recommendations, and cultivating drawings that are accepted by engineering principles)
• Navigate through the CAD system to streamline engineering drawings including but not limited to equipment layouts, flow diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams, and general assembly drawings
• Gather required data, size equipment, create necessary prints, estimate required resources, develop project costing, and prepare quotations. Present the project quotations to the customer and promote the sale of the project
• Once awarded the job, gather and supply the required documents to Project Coordinator to get the job set up, and begin to order the materials and equipment required. Inform the Director of Engineering on the scope of the project, review prints, and vocalize any critical areas or concerns regarding the installation of the project. Collab with the Director of Engineering to get resources scheduled to complete the job.
• If a customer experiences equipment breakdowns, visit and assist the site to provide technical support and coordinate repairs.
Qualifications for the Project Engineer:
• Bachelor's degree required (preferred in Engineering) or equivalent
• 3 -5 years of previous technical/engineering experience in the sanitary fluid process industry
• Willing to travel 35% /- of the time
