About the role:
Zabokritsky Law Group, P.C. is looking for an associate attorney to join our team in Great Neck, NY. We are looking for someone who is interested in growing with the company and making a significant impact on the lives of our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Case Management:
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to assess the viability of potential personal injury cases.
- Assist in drafting legal documents such as complaints, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.-
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for negotiations or trial.
- Client Representation:
- Provide compassionate and professional client service throughout the legal process.
- Conduct depositions of witnesses, experts, and parties involved in the case.
- Prepare clients for depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, or trials.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies or opposing counsel on behalf of clients.
- Drafting legal documents, including but not limited to: motions, petitions, subpoenas, motions and orders, discovery, etc.
- Legal Research and Writing:
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents related to personal injury cases.- Conduct legal research to support arguments and develop persuasive legal strategies.- Draft clear and concise legal memoranda, briefs, motions, and other written documents.- Review and analyze medical records, police reports, expert reports, and other evidence related to the case.
- Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.- Attend legal seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay updated on personal injury law developments.- Participate in firm-wide meetings and contribute to the overall growth and success of the firm.- Continuously enhance legal skills and knowledge through self-study and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar association and in good standing.
- Previous experience in personal injury law or related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex legal issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite
