What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Technician position at Zaba Therapy LLC?
Company: ZABA Therapy has been delivering ABA therapy to young children diagnosed with autism for over 13 years. We have highly trained teams led by BCBA-Ds (Doctoral level Behavior Analysts) with more experience and expertise combined than almost any Behavior Analyst - including those at the doctoral level, in the world. We offer comprehensive early intensive behavioral intervention (ABA) for young children ages 2-5 and also focused some ABA services for older school-aged children.
Behavior Technician Role: The Behavior Technician works 1:1 in our clinic in Hamden or in daycares across the area or in homes delivering ABA programming for children with autism. Must have experience with learners aged: 2-5 years old
Behavior Technician Responsibilities:
- Structure therapy sessions and follow the treatment plan development by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Use a variety of applied behavioral procedures to teach communication, social skills, flexibility, daily living, and play skills.
- Tailor interactions to fit the tone, volume, and appropriate language for the learner’s age and environment
- Implement behavior plans to reduce and eliminate targeted problem behaviors.
- Provide assistance to the family to ensure a high-quality learning and living environment for the learner.
- Collect data for all programming using automated data collection tools
Behavior Technician Job Requirements:
- Must Have 1 yr of experience providing ABA to children with autism
- Must be able to arrive on time and avoid cancellations
- Must be able to move and engage clients throughout long 6-8 hours sessions.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and maintain high level of alertness throughout 6-8 hour sessions and understand how to lift safely and keep clients safe.
- MUST HAVE Experience using Applied Behavior Analysis procedures that include:
- Discrete trials
- Response Interruption and Redirection
- Differential Reinforcement
- Shaping
- Pairing existing reinforcers with neutral items/activities to continually create new reinforcers
- Conducting preference assessments
- Naturalistic teaching procedures
- Pivotal Response Training
- Incidental Teaching Procedures
- Teaching Interaction Procedure (for complex social skills).
