Job Description
Z Transportation, a family-owned transportation company, is looking for an experienced Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance, repairs, inspections, and overall readiness of our semi-truck and trailer fleet.
This role is ideal for someone who understands trucking equipment, DOT compliance, preventative maintenance, vendor coordination, and how to keep trucks moving safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily fleet maintenance operations
- Schedule preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service
- Coordinate with mechanics, dealerships, vendors, and drivers
- Track maintenance records and repair history
- Help reduce truck downtime and improve equipment readiness
- Monitor DOT compliance, inspections, and safety-related repairs
- Review repair estimates, invoices, parts orders, and warranty claims
- Communicate with dispatch and operations regarding truck availability
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional maintenance process
Requirements
- Experience in fleet maintenance, trucking, diesel repair, or transportation operations
- Strong understanding of Class A trucks, trailers, DOT inspections, and repair schedules
- Ability to manage vendors, mechanics, and service timelines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Basic computer and record-keeping skills
- CDL or diesel mechanic background is a plus but not required
