SENIOR TECHNICAL DESIGNER

The Senior Technical Designer will be responsible for creating all technical specifications for design. This includes creating technical packs for each style and keeping them up to date as changes occur throughout the season to help ensure high-quality, production-ready garments. As a Senior Technical Designer you will also be attending all fittings for your styles. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation and a passion for technical design. Must be a “hands on” creative problem solver, who is detail oriented, an inventive thinker and able to juggle multiple seasons. This position will report to our Technical Design Manager.

 POSITION DETAIL

• Full Time – Salary Exempt                    
• Reporting to Technical Design Manager
• Position Location – Headquarters, Costa Mesa, CA 
• Hybrid Schedule – 3-4 Days in Office / 1-2 Days Remote 
• Not accepting applicants unable to work at Headquarters 

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create technical packages for each style, including measurement specs, construction details, and callouts and keeping them up to date as changes occur throughout the season to help ensure high-quality, production-ready garments
• Attend and participate in the fitting of all garments that you are responsible for, taking clear, detailed notes and measurements
• Create and revise fit comments and communicate revisions to overseas factories
• Work with designer on technical details for each style throughout the development and production process
• Able to work closely with other team members to help manage overall workload with regards to construction, fit, approvals, timelines, etc.
• Enter and maintain measurement data in Full Circle.
• Ensure garments align with design intent and fit standards.
• Needs to be an expert in fitting and patterns to make accurate fit changes / comments to overseas vendor. 

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Technical Design or Pattern Making
• Must have excellent communication and organizational skills, with great attention to detail
• Must excel at measuring garments and provide accurate comments and measurements
• Requires fluent knowledge and understanding of a garment spec sheet and POM’s.
• Must be a self-starter with a solution-based approach
• Ability to interpret design sketches and translate them into clear technical specifications
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
• Must be able to work proficiently in Google/Google Drive/Gmail, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Illustrator. Full Circle experience is a plus.
• Experience communicating with vendors overseas is a plus

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This position is currently operating as 3-4 days in office / partial remote position.  Work is conducted in an air-conditioned office environment or at home office.   Frequent use of hands, eyes, speech utilizing computer and work-related equipment. Frequent sitting, occasional standing / dexterity.   
 

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Continually required to sit, utilize hand and finger dexterity, talk & hear
• Occasionally exposure to outside weather conditions 
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 20-25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; Peripheral vision; Depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: computer, laptop, printer, copy machine

 POSITION SALARY RANGE

$90,000 - $110,000  Annually

As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, Z SUPPLY provides a range of compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. To determine starting pay within the hiring range, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, role/level, a candidate’s skills, experience, market demands, internal parity and other relevant factors.   Flexibility outside of the salary range listed may be considered based on additional skills or qualifications a candidate may possess that may justify additional compensation.  Company paid health benefits, PTO, bonus and other various company perks are not included in the salary range listed above and are considered additional compensation.
