Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Comptroller to lead our financial management and accounting operations. As a key executive, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls, ensuring the organization maintains transparency, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory standards. Duties
- Oversee the preparation of comprehensive financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage all aspects of accounting functions including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and cash management.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and implement robust internal controls to mitigate risk.
- Lead regulatory reporting efforts for government agencies and ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards.
- Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliation, financial analysis, and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
- Supervise budgeting processes, forecasting activities, and financial software systems such as QuickBooks, RMI and other industry-standard tools.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and write comprehensive financial reports that support strategic decision-making by executive leadership.
- Oversee external audits and coordinate with auditors to ensure timely completion of audit procedures.
- Develop policies for technical accounting issues related to double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and complex financial concepts.
- Lead the implementation of new accounting software solutions to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA or equivalent certification a plus, but not required
- Extensive experience in public accounting with a strong background in nonprofit or medical sector.
- Proven expertise in GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, regulatory reporting, and technical accounting standards.
- Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Exceptional written communication skills for preparing detailed financial reports and documentation.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
