This growing, San Antonio oil field services Company is adding a controller to the team. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is responsible for managing the monthly close process, financial statement preparation, general ledger integrity, supporting the annual audit and have fun finding ways to automate, and to leverage AI tools.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and ensure the accuracy of financial statements
- Own and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger integrity.
- Partner with operations to ensure accurate and timely recording of all revenue, cost, and financial transactions.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting packages for the board of directors & investors.
- Coordinate the annual audit and quarterly reviewed financials
- Provide technical accounting guidance to the team and address complex accounting issues.
- Oversee multi-state tax compliance, including sales and property tax
- Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to management. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Enhance cost and margin reporting by region and service line to support operational and pricing decisions.
- Prepare analysis to support capital project decisions and track results against plan.
- Own optimization of ERP and lead the integration of new modules into a connected, well-controlled financial system.
- Identify and implement process and automation improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience building or scaling an accounting function as a Company grows.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Robust ERP experience; SAP or SAP Business One is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Comfort leveraging automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline financial reporting and analysis.
- Curious nature and outgoing personality.
Salary : $125,000 - $155,000
