The Assistant Controller will be responsible for mentoring and directing a team, guiding accounting processes, the general ledger, and other key accounting areas. This person will be working closely with Operations Leaders to be a part of driving the business.
This role is four days in office, one day work from home: no long hours at month end close.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Supervise and coordinate daily accounting activities and general ledger functions, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded in line with accounting standards.
- Prepare, review, and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as management reports and presentations, to support business needs and inform stakeholders.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met, accounts are reconciled, and discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Collaborate with the finance team to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts, monitor actual performance, and provide analysis of variances to support effective financial planning.
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support audit activities by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support key business decisions and partner with senior leadership to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Participate in projects to optimize financial systems and tools to improve reporting accuracy and streamline accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required
- CPA required.
- Minimum of five years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, including leadership roles
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with a robust ERP system
- Outstanding leadership and communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate across departments and effectively manage multiple priorities
Salary : $115,000 - $135,000
