Job Description:

The Director of Domestic Violence Services is responsible for coordinating, developing, and strengthening domestic violence advocacy services across YWCA North Central Indiana. The Director provides day-to-day supervision and support to Domestic Violence Advocates while leading program development, community partnerships, data collection, quality improvement initiatives, and coordinated community response efforts. This position ensures domestic violence services are trauma-informed, survivor-centers, and aligned with agency, grant and accreditation standards.

The Director also maintains a limited caseload of clients to remain connected to direct service delivery while providing leadership to program.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Program Leadership

  • Provides day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support to Domestic Violence Advocates.
  • Provide one on one case management to residential DV clients to support caseload of Domestic Violence Advocate Lethality Specialist.
  • Conducts regular case consultation and staff meetings.
  • Assists with onboarding and training new domestic violence staff.
  • Ensures services are provided using trauma-informed, survivor-centered, culturally responsive practices.
  • Assists with policy and procedure development.
  • Identifies opportunities for program growth and continuous quality improvement.
  • Participates in strategic planning for domestic violence services.
  • Identifies emerging community needs and recommends new programming.
  • Recommends innovative approaches to strengthen survivor services and community response.

Program Development & Quality Improvement

  • Develops outcome measures and program performance indicators.
  • Designs tools to measure program effectiveness and survivor outcomes.
  • Collects, analyzes, and reports domestic violence program data.
  • Monitors grant performance measures.
  • Uses data to recommend program improvements.
  • Creates dashboards and reports demonstrating program impact.
  • Assists with grant writing by providing program data and narratives.
  • Ensures accurate documentation for grants and accreditation.

High-Risk Team Coordination

  • Coordinates and facilitates the Domestic Violence High Risk Team.
  • Recruits and maintains community participation.
  • Develops meeting agendas and action plans.
  • Tracks High Risk Team outcomes.
  • Reviews Danger Assessment trends.
  • Identifies gaps in community response.
  • Works collaboratively with law enforcement, prosecutors, healthcare systems, probation, victim advocates, and community partners.

Grant & Financial Oversight

  • Assists with grant implementation, contract compliance, and monitoring deliverables.
  • Ensures program activities align with grant requirements and funding expectations.
  • Monitors program expenditures and identifies resource needs
  • Assists with program budgeting and resource planning.
  • Participates in ICADV, and other accreditation or monitoring activities.

Community Partnerships

  • Represents the YWCA on community coalitions and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strengthens partnerships with law enforcement, healthcare providers, prosecutors, schools, legal services, housing providers, and community organizations.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand domestic violence services through collaboration.
  • Develops coordinated responses to domestic violence.
  • Identifies service gaps.
  • Creates referral pathways.
  • Maintains relationships with community agencies.
  • Collaborates with the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence and other statewide organizations.
