Description:The YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester is?seeking?an enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate?Summer Camp Program Director?to lead?Camp?Funkist, our dynamic summer day camp program. This role is ideal for a strong leader who loves working with children, supporting staff, and creating a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. The Camp Director plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality programming while?maintaining?full compliance with?the?New?York State Department of Health (DOH) regulations.? Key Responsibilities:Camp Operations & LeadershipOversee the daily operations of Camp?Funkist?to ensure a safe, engaging, and well-run program. Implement camp schedules, activities, and?special events. Create a positive, inclusive, and energetic camp culture. Staff SupervisionSupervise and evaluate camp staff. Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing support to counselors and activity staff. Ensure proper staff-to-camper ratios are?maintained?at all times. Health, Safety & DOH ComplianceEnsure full compliance with all New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulations for day camps. Maintain required records such as attendance, incident reports, health logs, and emergency procedures. Conduct daily health and safety checks of staff, campers, and facilities. Serve as the primary point of contact during DOH inspections. Camper & Family SupportPromote a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment for all campers. Communicate with families?regarding?questions, concerns, or incidents. Support campers’ social-emotional development and positive behavior. Administrative & Program SupportKeep?accurate?records of?attendance, incidents, and staff documentation. Communicate regularly with the Assistant Director of Youth Programming.
