GENERAL SUMMARY
Under general supervision, performs general maintenance services for the YWCA building and grounds.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Performs maintenance and repairs and general upkeep of buildings and equipment for all YWCA owned facilities.
· Maintains inventories and performs purchasing functions for facilities department as authorized.
· Provides guidance and instruction to Maintenance/Repair Assistant and Maintenance Technician I positions.
· Assists with room set-ups, tear downs, moving furniture, stock and deliveries as needed.
· Performs general yard work for YWCA facilities which may include but is not limited to lawn mowing, minor landscaping, and litter clean up.
· Interacts with vendors, contractors, and facility users for purposes of providing guidance, instruction and status updates
· Reports supply needs, equipment problems, facility upkeep needs or safety hazards promptly to supervisor.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
· High school diploma or equivalent level of education and training. Additional training beyond high school in construction, mechanical trades or institutional facility management preferred.
· Five (5) years of experience in related field.
· Basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting, and general construction.
· Must be able to enter and retrieve data using computer systems, systems applications, and other office equipment.
· Has access to and willingness to use personal transportation and tools for business purposes, with compensation as allowed by policy, required.
· Ability to be qualified as an approved driver for the YWCA, required.
· Physically able to: climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, walk, stand, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear, see, and type.
· Medium work involving movement and exertion of up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently for purposes of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects.
· Visual acuity is required to perform duties involving operating motor vehicles or other tools/machinery, or performing tasks involving analysis of data, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, or making general observations of facilities and/or surroundings.
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Conditions include occasional exposure to close quarters, enclosed rooms, crawl spaces, and other similar areas.
· Indoor/outdoor working conditions exist.
· Conditions are subject to occasional exposure to agitated or threatening individuals.
· Exposure to various cleaning chemical solutions.
