What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Services & Delivery Associate (PT) position at YWCA USA?
Food Services & Delivery Associate
(Part-Time)
At YWCA Greater Cleveland, we believe a meal is more than food - it represents dignity, stability, and care. We are seeking a dependable and organized Food Services & Delivery Associate to help ensure women and families in our housing and shelter programs receive nutritious meals safely and on time. This is a hands-on, active role that supports operations across multiple sites and plays an important part in maintaining consistency within our food systems.
In this position, you will split your time between delivering hot meals and supporting food inventory management. You will safely transport meals between locations, ensuring proper temperature control and timely arrival. At each site, you will help maintain clean, orderly pantry and kitchen spaces so staff can efficiently serve residents. You will also receive deliveries, inspect items for quality and freshness, label and date products, and organize storage areas using First In/First Out (FIFO) rotation practices. Keeping products at least six inches off the floor, monitoring for damaged goods, and maintaining sanitation standards are essential components of the role.
This position requires someone who values structure and reliability. You will work independently for much of your shift, manage your time effectively, and communicate clearly with kitchen staff and supervisors regarding inventory discrepancies or supply needs. Approximately half of your time will involve travel between locations, so a valid driver's license with fewer than two points and comfort operating a cargo van are required.
We are looking for a candidate with a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in food handling, delivery, warehouse, or inventory support. ServSafe certification is preferred but not required at hire. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, and comfortable working in varying temperatures, including refrigerated environments. You must be able to stand, bend, climb stairs, and remain alert while following safety procedures.
Beyond technical skills, we seek someone who can remain calm in fast-paced environments and who demonstrates respect for individuals from diverse backgrounds. Alignment with the mission of YWCA Greater Cleveland - eliminating racism and empowering women - is essential.
If you are organized, dependable, and motivated by meaningful work that supports women rebuilding their lives, we encourage you to apply. YWCA Greater Cleveland is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
The YWCA is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace. All qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, age, pregnancy, genetic information, creed, marital status, or any other consideration prohibited by law or by contract.
