Role Description The Childcare Center Director is a full-time, on-site role located in Miami, FL, responsible for overseeing daily operations of the childcare center in alignment with YWCA South Florida’s mission and standards. This role manages staff scheduling, supervision, and professional development, and ensures that classroom activities and curricula support high-quality early childhood education and a safe, nurturing environment. The Director oversees regulatory compliance, licensing requirements, health and safety protocols, and maintains accurate records and documentation. Daily responsibilities include engaging with families, addressing inquiries and concerns, coordinating enrollment processes, managing budgets and resources, and collaborating with organizational leadership to support program improvement and community outreach.

Qualifications
- Strong expertise in childcare and early childhood development, with the ability to create and oversee age-appropriate, inclusive learning environments.
- Background in education, including curriculum planning, classroom management, and staff training related to early learning standards.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills for working with children, families, staff, and community partners.
- Leadership and supervisory experience in a childcare or educational setting, including performance management and team coaching.
- Knowledge of state and local childcare regulations, licensing requirements, and health and safety standards.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to racial justice, equity, and the empowerment of women and girls, consistent with YWCA South Florida’s mission.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field; relevant certifications or director credentials are preferred.
