YWCA Lancaster is looking for full-time Staff Accountant, who is an integral part of our team.
YWCA Lancaster is seeking a hands-on, experienced Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
What your day looks like:
- Maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
- Preparing journal entries, analysis, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly closing procedures.
- Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Supporting processes and maintaining documentation for accounts payable and purchases.
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
- Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Assist Grant Manager with preparation and tracking of grant budgets.
- Assist the CFO and Controller as assigned.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required, master’s degree or CPA a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
- Experience with government grant reporting systems (Egrants, etc.) a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Desire and ability to embody the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
- Participate in at least one mission related activity a year.
