Position Overview
The Clerk is responsible for providing customer service internal and external to the agency while contributing to the overall furtherance of the mission of the YWCA Hawaii Island by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Protect the confidentiality of member, participant and YWCA information handled.
- Provide customer service to visitors, members, staff and others through communication and assistance in person, by telephone, mail, email, fax or other communication methods as may be developed.
- Communicates openly and effectively with supervisor, co-workers, customers and others.
- Assist in maintaining administrative files and updated forms.
- Assist supervisory team with daily clerical tasks relating to required contract documentation including but not limited to; typing form letter, filing in general and client files, distributing and gathering documentation from staff, and verifying all documentation is complete and in order in client files.
- Cross train to support other staff as appropriate.
- Attend and participate in all mandatory HFP and job specific training.
- Operates office equipment including 10 key, fax, multi-phone system, credit card machine and others as may be required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Six months clerical and office experience. Experience with a non-profit organization preferred. Must be proficient in computer skills, including databases, spreadsheets, word processing, email and internet.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and word processing software. Crystal Reports experience helpful.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
- Must possess a current Hawaii Driver's License.
- Must pass background and drug screening.
- TB Clearance desirable.
- First Aid and CPR desirable.
