Gain valuable experience in youth work, education, and community engagement.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Implement Comprehensive Programming Lead engaging, age-appropriate, and culturally relevant activities for large and small youth groups. Collaborate regularly with program co-workers to create an inclusive, student-centered environment. Maintain and implement safety standards for physical and emotional well-being. Communicate with participants and families, supporting program retention efforts. Provide staffing support to additional Girls & Youth programs as needed.Perform Administrative Tasks Distribute, collect, and ensure accurate completion of registration forms. Implement program evaluation methods following Girls & Youth standards. Utilize the program's online data management system. Contribute to monthly reports summarizing activities and participant impact.Seek Continuous Professional Development Participate in professional learning opportunities to enhance programming. Develop and enrich activities based on youth interests and requests. Attend meetings with the Beacons team, Beacons Network, and school staff. Collaborate with program managers, coordinators, and other youth counselors to strengthen youth work skills.RELATIONSHIPSReports to : Beacons Program CoordinatorWorks with : Beacons staff team Girls & Youth staff South High School staff Minneapolis Public Schools staff Community organizations Youth participants and familiesPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly lifting and carrying supplies Occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds High mobility throughout the school building during programming Reliable transportation is required for occasional off-site meetings and training (YWCA Midtown or partner agencies) Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent Minimum age : 18 years old Experience leading youth activities in an after-school settingSkills & Competencies Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural respect Professional communication with school staff and families Adherence to YWCA and Beacons program policiesHealth & SafetyCPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)YWCA Mission CommitmentStrong belief in the YWCA's mission and its importanceREADY TO JOIN THE FUN?
