RESPONSIBILITIES
The assistant teacher is responsible for assisting in the care and education of a group of children as part of a teaching team. The assistant teacher is an active participant of the teaching team by taking direction from lead teacher while in classroom. The assistant teacher assists in working with parents and assists in assessing the needs of the individual children. The assistant teacher must be able to effectively assist in the classroom, be sensitive to the needs of the individual children, and relate well with both the children and adults. All assistant teachers are actively engaged with children at all times.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- A.A. or B.A. degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred.
- Experience teaching, developing, and implementing curriculum for young children preferred.
- Proficiency in English required
- Good verbal and written communication skills required
- Proficient in at least one other language is helpful to translate documents and conversations for clients.
- Must be available to start work as soon as possible.
WORK HOURS
Part time position; 20-30 hours/week; Monday to Friday, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.25 per hour
