Group Activity Leader – Afterschool Program (Part-Time)
Multiple Positions Available!
2026–2027 School Year Position
Training Begins: August 26, 2026
Location: Bush, Fletcher, Jefferson, or Westfield School (a primary location would be assigned, but may be occasionally required to substitute at an alternate location)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–6:00 PM (approximately 17.5–18.5 hours/week)
Pay: $17.16–$18.00/hour
Join the YWCA team and make a positive impact in the lives of local children! We are seeking energetic, dependable Group Activity Leaders for the 2026–2027 school year to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive afterschool environment for youth.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children in an OCFS-regulated program.
- Plan and lead fun, educational, and enriching activities.
- Take attendance, complete wellness checks, and maintain required documentation.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and school staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, family events, and occasional special events.
- Help create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in education, child development, recreation, or a related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience working with children under age 13 (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Must successfully complete required OCFS and State Central Register (SCR) background clearances and annual training requirements.
