Position/Title: Youth Leader – K-3 After-school Program
Job Classification: Part time, non-exempt
Work Hours: Monday – Friday 2 pm – 6 pm (days are flexible with more hours available)
Supervisor: School-aged Childcare Coordinator

About the role:

As part of our dynamic team at the after-school program, you will have the opportunity to create and lead all kinds of fun activities. Our program has an amazing space with a full-sized gymnasium for group games as well as an abundance of outdoor spaces that include playgrounds and open spaces with fields for sports and hills for sledding. We also have a bright open cafeteria and a lot of amazing toys and supplies to work with. We are looking for people who can imagine all the engaging experiences that can be created with all that we have to offer.
To be successful in this role, you must have strong decision-making skills and be able to judge appropriately in response to questions and behaviors exhibited by children in Kindergarten through Grade 3. You need to understand the importance of a warm, caring atmosphere and can confidently create a careful balance between reliable security and stimulation that fosters exploration and growth. And of course…you must LOVE kids!
Who you are:
- You meet the qualifications from the MA Department of Early Education & Care Group Leader: at least 18 years of age, a suitable Background Record Check, high school diploma and 6 months relevant work experience or 9 months relevant work experience
- You possess an ability to create and lead activities in large groups of children (50-100)
- You have experience in youth enrichment programming
- You possess good team management skills
- You have an enthusiastic personality and enjoy working on a team
