Grant Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced

Grant Accountant to join our team! Ideal for a motivated individual with a strong background in grant accounting and financial management. The role requires expertise in governmental accounting practices and proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities:

• Manage grant accounting processes, ensuring compliance with state and federal financial regulations.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and maintain accurate records for grant-related activities.
• Perform month-end close procedures, including general ledger updates and journal entries.
• Reconcile balance sheets and accounts to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design and improve reporting processes.
• Ensure proper documentation and tracking of government funding from multiple revenue sources.
• Maintain and update electronic systems to record financial information efficiently.
• Provide support for audits and ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant accounting or a related financial role.
• Strong understanding of governmental accounting policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Power BI.
• Ability to manage complex financial data and prepare accurate reports.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Familiarity with federal grant management and reporting requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to reconcile accounts and perform month-end close processes.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
