Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Dayton, OH for a Shelter Navigator II at YWCA Dayton. The Shelter Navigator II will provide immediate support and guidance to residents of the shelter, ensuring their safety and well-being. Key responsibilities include conducting client intake and assessments, coordinating and delivering resources and referrals, maintaining accurate client documentation, assisting in daily operations of the shelter, and fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. The Shelter Navigator II will actively collaborate with other team members to uphold the organization's mission and provide high-quality service to clients in need.
Qualifications
- Experience in case management, counseling, advocacy, or client support services
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and empathy
- Knowledge of community resources, social services, or related professional networks
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and needs within the shelter
- Relevant experience in social work, human services, or a related field preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline strongly preferred
