The Property Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of the Permanent Supportive Housing program, ensuring safe, stable, and compliant housing for residents. This position oversees resident intake and leasing, enforces lease agreements, coordinates unit occupancy, monitors property conditions, and collaborates with internal teams and community partners to promote housing stability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete intake processes and documentation for Permanent Supportive Housing eligibility.
  • Execute lease documentation and ensure residents understand rules, expectations, and responsibilities.
  • Enforce lease agreements consistently and fairly.
  • Provide one-on-one guidance, issue reminders, and notices when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Operations on eviction decisions and processes when required.
  • Coordinate with legal counsel and support court-related proceedings as needed.
  • Partner with Supportive Services and community providers to strengthen resident stability.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with residents to support housing sustainability and problem-solving.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of housing program operations.
  • Assist in responding to housing program emergencies and crisis situations in coordination with the Senior Director of Operations.
  • Address and help resolve client issues using a trauma-informed approach.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with maintenance staff and ensure timely resolution of work orders and building needs.
  • Communicate unit vacancies and coordinate unit readiness for occupancy.
  • Report vacancies to appropriate partners for referral and placement.
  • Maintain calm, professional response during high-stress situations.
  • Manage and minimize health, safety, and operational risks at the property.
  • Conduct regular unit walkthroughs and document cleanliness, maintenance, and safety concerns.
  • Report building or safety issues to the appropriate internal teams.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.
  • Represent the housing program at meetings and community engagements as needed.
  • Attend required trainings, including HMIS certification and Fair Housing training.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Property Management, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in property management, affordable housing, supportive housing, case management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance use disorders, or other barriers to housing preferred.
  • Experience with leasing, tenant relations, occupancy management, and Fair Housing practices preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse populations.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment.
  • Ability to follow safety, security, and emergency procedures, including handling crisis situations calmly and effectively.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Successful completion of: BCI and FBI background checks and pre-employment drug screening.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk throughout the property and conduct regular unit inspections.
  • Occasional walking to monitor facility entry points, deliver items, or assist staff and visitors.
  • Ability to climb stairs and occasionally carry items up to approximately 20 pounds.

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
