RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for assisting in planning and facilitating social emotional educational activities for a diverse group of children with low to moderate varying developmental needs within the Special Needs program, which includes embedding our mission of eliminating racism and empowering women within the program. The Special Needs Assistant Teacher will be responsible for building and maintaining open communication with childcare families and helping the lead teacher implement curriculum. This person will need to be knowledgeable of DCFS regulations and best practices in working with children with special needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a High school Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must have special education coursework or experience working with children with special needs.
- Proficiency in English required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Proficient in at least one other language helpful.
- Must be available to start work as soon as possible.
WORK HOURS
Part-time; 15-20 hours/week; Monday – Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.75 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
