About the Role
The Staff Accountant supports the organization’s daily financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end closings. You’ll help ensure accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across financial processes while assisting in the development of budgets, reports, and grant-related accounting.
This is a hands-on role for someone who values teamwork, integrity, and accountability. The right candidate will be comfortable engaging with a range of departments and personalities in a mission-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate day-to-day accounting functions and maintain accurate financial records
Process vendor payments, payroll, and bank reconciliations
Prepare monthly journal entries, financial statements, and analysis
Assist with grant budgets, reporting, and audits
Support financial inquiries from other departments with professionalism and clarity
Contribute to improving accounting procedures and internal controls
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
4–5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office tools
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
A reliable and proactive approach to teamwork and deadlines
(Preferred) Experience with nonprofit or grant-funded organizations

Schedule & Work Environment
Monday through Friday; occasional additional hours may be required
Light local travel (approx. 10%) for bank deposits and meetings
