Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with menu selections, highlighting seafood specials and beverage pairings to enhance their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring timely and correct processing of sales transactions
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation, sanitation, and food safety
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and premium seafood options to maximize guest satisfaction and sales
- Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change
- Maintain guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless food preparation and timely service in a fine dining atmosphere
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with seafood or fine dining establishments
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail preparation, and drink presentation
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions and managing bills confidently
