YTI operates a state-of-the-art marine container terminal in the Port of Los Angeles. YTI was established in 1991 at the Port’s Berths 212-218. The services we provide are stevedoring and terminal operations for The Alliance (ONE, Hapag Lloyd, HMM and Yang Ming) as well as slot chartering from Evergreen, CMA-CGM, APL, COSCO and OOCL. Overview:
We are looking for a self-starter with great Leadership ability as the General Manager – Information Technology. Reporting to the Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer, the General Manager – Information Technology is a member of the senior leadership team, serves as a knowledgeable and trusted resource to the Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer and other senior leaders. This position is a hands-on, quality focused Information Technology professional providing leadership and tactical support to YTI delivering business initiatives to address YTI’s most important opportunities and challenges. The General Manager will drive tracking and reporting against key IT CAPEX and OPEX initiatives promoting visibility, transparency, and accountability in project performance and drive value delivery.
What you will do:
- Identify, present, and execute IT CAPEX initiatives including hardware and software on the terminal as well as YTI finance office in Nashville.
- Manage the annual budget under IT cost center and make sure IT expenses remain in line with YTI’s annual budget by tracking and managing IT expenses in an optimal manner throughout the year.
- Maintain keen attention to YTI system integration of various software and hardware performing periodic and preventive measures to eliminate any potential risks of system slow down or shut down for the extended time resulting in any gate closure or operational shutdown.
- Liaison with the Customer Service Department and Operations Team; identify, develop, and implement IT solutions in a timely manner facilitating our corrective and preventive actions to address exceptions, service irregularity and concerns in our internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaison with external stakeholders and regulatory entities to handle data submission as well as data exchange aligned with YTI’s strategic goals and policies.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures in YTI ensuring business activities are up-to-date in accordance with current cyber security and safety standards.
- Monitor technology performance of all supporting software and hardware ensuring service level of IT contracts are achieved and manage corrective action with technology vendors where needed.
- Provide support for YTI Operations Team implementing projects with operational excellence promoting efficiency; elevating safety and operational standards for YTI’s strategic goals.
- Ensure YTI’s compliance with all corporate systems and security policies.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology preferred.
- 7 plus years’ progressive experience in an IT organization.
- Demonstrated and proven capabilities in leading IT transformational initiatives in complex and dynamic environments.
- Experience with:
- Navis SPARCS, Express and N4 Terminal Operating System products preferred.
- Developing and implementing corporate data warehouse and business intelligence (BI) tools preferred.
- EDI Configuration and API setup with customers and vendors preferred.
- OCR, DGPS, and Gate technologies a plus.
- IT Vendor Management manages vendors’ performance against SLAs.
- Managing IT Annual Budget.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with stakeholders and team members.
- Demonstrated abilities to work under pressure and manage multiple teams in meeting deadlines.
- Proven ability in taking ownership, accountability, sense of urgency, and demonstrated strong business acumen.
