Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Medical Assistant to oversee daily clinical operations while providing high-quality patient care. The Lead Medical Assistant serves as a mentor to medical assistant staff, ensures compliance with clinic policies and procedures, and supports providers in delivering efficient and compassionate healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support medical assistant staff in daily operations.
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure timely rooming of patients.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during examinations and procedures.
- Train, onboard, and mentor new medical assistants.
- Monitor clinical workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies.
- Manage medical supplies and maintain inventory levels.
- Perform vital signs, patient intake, medication reconciliation, and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Assist with scheduling, quality assurance activities, and patient communication.
- Serve as a liaison between providers, staff, and management.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of medical assistant experience.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of clinical procedures and EHR systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
