We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Chef to re-establish our reputation as the best Chinese restaurant in the South Sound region. As a key pillar of our daily operations, you will balance speed and quality in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Cook a few dozen Americanized Chinese entrees, consisted of lunch combinations and dinner items
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
- Cutting, marinating and creating sauces for entrees
- Frying preparation, including appetizers and entrees that require deep-frying
- Have an open attitude to learning authentic Chinese dishes (we will train)
Skills
- Chinese cooking experience
- Outstanding proficiency flipping a wok and stir-frying is a must
- Fryer experience is required
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations within the food industry
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Must possess or be able to obtain a food safety manager's certificate within a month of hiring
