Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients according to established recipes and standards
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pans, and food processors
• Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
• Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients for upcoming dishes and ensuring consistency in presentation
• Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling techniques to ensure quality and safety
• Contribute to high-volume production by efficiently preparing meals for large groups or events while maintaining quality standards
• Assist with food production tasks such as grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking methods as needed
• Maintain accurate records of food inventory and assist in ordering supplies when necessary
• Support dietary department needs by understanding dietary restrictions and assisting with meal customization when required
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely meal service

Experience

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred
• Dietary aide experience or familiarity with dietary department procedures is a plus
• Proven skills in food preparation techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and recipe adherence
• Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
• Strong understanding of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
• Background in fine dining or catering environments enhances your suitability for this role
• Demonstrated ability to handle high-volume production while maintaining quality standards
• Knowledge of culinary techniques including knife skills and meal preparation processes
• Familiarity with food industry regulations related to food handling and safety protocols
