Duties
- Facilitate the financing process by structuring auto loans and leases that meet both customer needs and dealership goals
- Collaborate with customers to explain financing options, after market products, and extended warranties, emphasizing upselling opportunities
- Review credit applications thoroughly, perform credit analysis, and determine loan eligibility in accordance with financial regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act)
- Ensure all loan documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with federal and state automotive finance laws
- Manage title processing, contract preparation, and transaction structuring to streamline the sales process
- Maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication, ensuring a positive experience from initial inquiry to final sale
- Use industry-standard financial software (such as CDK or similar platforms) to process transactions efficiently and accurately
- Stay updated on automotive sales industry regulations and financial compliance standards to uphold dealership integrity
Skills
- Proven experience in loan officer roles within the automotive or financial services industry
- Expertise in customer relationship management (CRM) tools and client communication strategies
- Strong knowledge of automotive financing, insurance products, and dealership sales processes
- Excellent negotiation skills to close deals while maintaining compliance with financial regulations like TILA and industry standards
- Ability to perform detailed credit analysis using basic math skills and 10-key typing proficiency
- Familiarity with transaction structuring, title processing, and loan processing procedures
- Deep understanding of automotive sales industry regulations, including compliance with federal and state laws governing financial transactions
- Effective deal negotiation skills that maximize upselling opportunities without compromising customer satisfaction
