About The Job
The Taco Bell Control Analyst ensures Taco Bell's gift card (GCTB) financials are accurate, timely, and in accordance with US GAAP and YUM! Policies. This position is a great opportunity for candidates who want to build technical accounting expertise, strengthen cross-functional partnerships (Payments, FP&A, and Finance leadership), and expand visibility through close, reporting, and audit support.
We are seeking a candidate with an automation mindset who actively identifies opportunities to eliminate manual processes and improve data accuracy. This individual thinks in terms of scalable processes and strong controls rather than simply completing tasks. They will collaborate effectively across Finance, Payments, and IT to develop sustainable solutions, approach problems analytically to identify root causes and drive resolution and communicate clearly and confidently with both operational partners and leadership.
Salary Range
$80,300- $86,000 bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.

- Own key month-end close activities for the gift card program, including preparing and reviewing Taco Bell gift card financial statements and related analyses.
- Build and deliver internal management reporting packages; partner with Payments and FP&A to spot trends/outliers, investigate drivers, and communicate insights and risks.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of key estimates and reserves (e.g., breakage, discounts, inventory), including support for assumptions, documentation, and periodic true-ups.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and intercompany activity; maintain clean support, resolve reconciling items promptly, and elevate significant/unusual items to the US Controller.
- Lead automation initiatives to reduce manual work and improve data integrity across the gift card accounting process, including partnering with IT to automate data feeds/downloads from third-party providers.
- Evaluate existing workflows and proactively redesign processes using available systems and tools (e.g., ERP, reporting tools, Power Query) to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
- Prepare and/or review quarterly balance sheet and income statement deliverables; ensure submissions to YUM for SEC reporting are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Coordinate and support annual audit and agreed-upon procedures, including preparing audit schedules, footnotes, and financial statement support.
- Annually compile and analyze aged redemption data to evaluate non-redemption (breakage) assumptions and document support for key conclusions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong foundation in core accounting concepts.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to translate details into clear updates for partners and leaders.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with sound business acumen and comfort working with large data sets.
- Strong systems aptitude (ERP and Microsoft Office), including strong Excel skills (e.g., pivots, lookups, Power Query preferred).
- CPA or active CPA candidate.
- Experience with JD Edwards and/or HFM.
