Primary Functi

onThe Aircraft Mechanics I, II, & III Sheet Metal are responsible for assessing aircraft damage and draft repair procedures to aircraft structural and composite components. Must be able to utilize advanced metalworking practices and techniques to form, cut, bend, and fasten new / repair components to damaged structures. Must be proficient in close tolerance drilling/reaming for installation of high-strength fasteners. Able to use powered / non-powered metalworking tooling and equipmen

  • ns.Manufactures / use jigs, fixtures, forms, and molds to fabricate repair or replacement par
  • ts.Uses advanced metalworking practices, equipment, and tools to form, cut, bend, and fasten replacement or repair parts to damaged structures and componen
  • ts.Uses shop drawing and metal layout techniques; shop mathematics; corrosion identification, removal, repair, and prevention; cleaning of metals; application of protective coatings, and markin
  • gs.Closes completed maintenance discrepancies in automated maintenance syste
  • ms.Document maintenance as per Quality Assurance (QA) and established regulatory requiremen
  • ts.Stores, handles, and disposes of hazardous waste and materials according to environmental standards and company process

  • ks.Maintain strict tool control procedures. Report missing, lost, found, or unattended tools to the supervisor. Inventory and inspect tools on a regular basis and replace worn or broken too
