The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. The Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta is home to thousands of lakes and two primary rivers—the Kuskokwim and Yukon.

Position Summary: The Food and Nutrition Supervisor will work in tandem with the Executive Chef to achieve department goals. The Food and Nutrition Supervisor will train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities; estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food; select and develop recipes; standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality; establish presentation technique and quality standards; plan menus in consultation with Registered Dietitian; ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance; and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen. The Food and Nutritional Services Supervisor will fill in and prepare meals when needed. The Food and Nutritional Services Supervisor will be responsible to manage the departmental budget for supplies, food and labor.

Position Qualifications
- Minimum Education: A high-school diploma or GED is required. An associate degree in culinary is preferred. Six (6) or more years of food industry with culinary management experience
- Minimum Experience: Six (6) or more years of food industry with culinary management experience.
- License, Certification, Registration: Certified Dietary Manager or successfully complete course within 12 months of employment. Manager Level Serve Safe. Alaska Food Handlers Card.
- Equipment/Tools/Word-Aids: All commercial kitchen equipment. Office equipment and basic computer skills.
- Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Operating knowledge of local, state, federal and Joint Commission/CMS regulations. The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on patient and customer services is essential to success in this role. Manage native food donation program. Knowledge and respect for traditional native foods and culture.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: The Food and Nutrition Supervisor directly supervises kitchen personnel in tandem with the Executive Chef and in the absence of the Executive Chef with responsibility for hiring, discipline, performance reviews and initiating pay increases.
