The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is a Tribal health care organization, serving nearly 30,000 people living across rural, southwest Alaska in villages with populations from about 10 to more than 1,000. Bethel, the regional hub and location of the only hospital in the region, has a population of nearly 7,000. Position Summary: The Focus Care Clinic Unit Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operations of the unit. Under the guidance of the RN Coordinator, this role serves as a point of contact for patients and supports healthcare providers by managing patient records, scheduling appointments, and coordinating communication within the clinic.
Position Qualifications: A highly self-motivated individual with organizational and multitasking skills. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of experience working in a healthcare field preferred. Medical terminology preferred.
License, Certification, Registration: Certified Nurse Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Equipment /Tools: Computer, Printer, photocopier, fax machine, multi-line phone system and other general office equipment.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Typing 45 w.p.m. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong multitasking and organizational skills. Attention to detail and accuracy necessary. Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft office preferred. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Interpersonal and communication skill required; Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written. Yup’ik speaker preferred. Medical terminology preferred.
