Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant demonstrates knowledge of speech and language development, common communication disorders, and basic principles of intervention used in educational settings. The SLPA is familiar with speech and language therapy materials, AAC devices, assistive technology, and data collection methods used to support student communication goals. This role requires the ability to follow treatment plans developed by a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist, maintain accurate records, and document student progress.
Requirements / Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders OR Graduation from a speech-language pathology assistant program; AND Current registration as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Board.
