The County of Yuba is currently recruiting for the position of**Human Resources Technician** in the Human Resources department. Under general supervision, the incumbent performs a broad range of technical, administrative and confidential functions in a centralized human resources and risk management setting including processes of personnel, training, benefits, and County-wide payroll processing; audits reports and systems; analysis of data; assists with administration of Countys benefit plans, human resources information systems (HRIS), position control; coordinates County-wide training programs; provides support in various employee and labor relations areas; and performs related work as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate Will
MINIMUM: 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college with major coursework in human resources, business or public administration, industrial relations, economics or related field and one (1) year of progressively responsible office support experience which has involved some human resources experience. Relevant human resources experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED:In addition to the minimum qualifications, Bachelors degree from an accredited college with major coursework in human resources, public or business administration, industrial relations, economics, or related fieldand progressively responsible experience performing technical work in a private/public agency human resources office.
Licenses And Certification
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Strong attention to detail in processing benefits transactions with a high degree of accuracy, including pre-employment medical clearances and Live Scan background processing
- Working knowledge of human resources functions, with an emphasis on benefits administration support, recruitment coordination, and personnel processes
- Experience supporting recruitment efforts, including serving as a proctor for candidate testing and ensuring a fair, organized, and professional testing environment
- Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion, particularly in pre-employment matters
- Effective organizational and time management skills to prioritize competing deadlines, including onboarding workflows and front office responsibilities
- Proven ability to provide front office coverage, delivering professional customer service while managing inquiries, directing visitors, and supporting daily administrative operations
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team, working with internal departments, candidates, and external partners to ensure seamless HR operations

Licenses And Certification
- The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; may be required to maintain throughout employment.
- Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which may include Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire.
- Attend meetings outside of normal working hours.
- Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
