Role Description The Generator Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in North Bergen, NJ. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing standby and portable generators, including performing routine inspections, diagnostics, and load testing to ensure reliable operation. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, replacing parts, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting work performed in service reports. The technician will respond to service calls, coordinate with supervisors and clients on scheduling and repair status, and ensure all work complies with safety standards and local codes. The role also involves keeping tools and equipment in good working order and staying current with manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with generator installation, maintenance, and repair, including basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and relevant codes or standards commonly used in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and follow technical manuals or schematics accurately.
- Strong attention to safety, including adherence to OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures.
