Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our waterfront team as a Sailing Instructor / Dock Hand. This hybrid role is ideal for someone passionate about sailing, safety, and providing exceptional experiences on the water. You will be responsible for assisting sailors in rigging and launching their boats, managing reservation booking software, assisting with dock operations, and maintaining boats and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with launching, docking, and securing boats.
- Use computer to manage reservation bookings, schedule lessons, and check in customers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of docks and surrounding areas.
- Perform routine maintenance on boats and sailing equipment.
- Support boaters with equipment, fueling, and general questions.
- Assist in emergency response procedures when needed.
- Monitor dock traffic and help manage a safe and efficient waterfront environment.
Skills
- Prior experience in sailing instruction or strong sailing skills (certification preferred: US Sailing, ASA, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of small boat handling and water safety.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, outdoor environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy; experience with reservation systems or scheduling software a plus.
- CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Boater’s license or equivalent (depending on location/state regulations) preferred.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
