Position: Youth Care Worker
Department: Homeless Youth
Location: Bellwood, Illinois.
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 8 A.M - 4 P.M. - Weekends only
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Youth Care Worker assists adolescent wards of the state with preparing for adulthood by providing counseling, employment assistance, and educational/life skills training. A Youth Care Worker refers residents for services, as needed; collaborates with case managers in reviewing and planning individual service plans; and provides transportation, as needed.
Knowledge of DCFS policies, procedures, and regulations is an asset.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or at least 60 hours of college credits
- One year of experience working with high-risk adolescents, preferably in a residential setting
- 3 years of experience working with youths at risk without a college degree
- Valid driver's license
- Clear driving record
- Reliable transportation (proof of insurance may be needed)
