AmeriCorps Y.O.U.th Serve Members

Help youth thrive academically, socially, and emotionally while gaining valuable professional experience through a service year. Members support tutoring, enrichment activities, social-emotional learning, life skills, family engagement, field trips, summer programming, and more.

AmeriCorps Mental Health Lead

Bring your mental health and social-emotional expertise into an afterschool environment. This role serves as a bridge between Y.O.U.’s Clinical & Outreach and Out-of-School Time teams, facilitating mental health and wellness groups, supporting youth with emotional regulation and conflict resolution, assisting with behavior support, and helping staff strengthen their ability to respond to youth mental health needs.

Youth Worker – Activity Lead

Lead engaging enrichment experiences for youth ages 8–18. Activity Leads facilitate programming in areas such as Fine & Performing Arts, STEM/STEAM, Literacy, Sports & Recreation, Social-Emotional Learning, and character development, while building positive relationships and creating a safe, structured environment where young people can learn and grow.

Educational and experience requirements vary by position. Opportunities range from entry-level youth development and AmeriCorps service roles to positions requiring a bachelor’s degree and experience in mental health or related human services fields.

AmeriCorps Y.O.U.th Serve members may receive a bi-monthly living stipend, professional development, vacation and sick leave (based on service commitment), a Y.O.U./AmeriCorps uniform, and federal AmeriCorps benefits, including a Segal Education Award of up to $7,395, subject to change and eligibility.

Youth Worker Activity Leads are part-time positions, generally working 2–6 p.m. during the academic year and 8 a.m.–4 p.m. during the summer, with compensation of $15–$18 per hour depending on education and experience.
